Seth (Aidan Quinn) feels that somehow God is out to get him. After losing his wife, their unborn child, his home, and for the final insult, getting struck by lightening he is almost crazed with grief and rage. He decides to break all Ten Commandments. When he makes his pledge, his wife's sister Rachel and her husband (Anthony LaPaglia) are concerned. They take him in so they can watch over him.
