SAN FRANCISCO (KRON / NEXSTAR) – Get your Jiffy Pop ready.
This October, Airbnb is offering horror fans the chance to stay in the house from the 1996 movie Scream for just $ 5 a night.
The Marin County, California home is said to be ready to explore in “all its pristine glory,” according to Airbnb, complete with Ghostface’s knife marks on the doors. As soon as guests have toured the property, they can also embark on a VHS marathon of “Scream” films along with all of the “classic 90s snack favorites” they can process – Jiffy Pop included.
Airbnb said one of the house’s phones also connects directly to Ghostface itself, although it may also ring with a cryptic call from the killer (s).
The house will only be available for three nights of one night on October 27th, October 29th and October 31st for a maximum of four guests per night. Fans can book the house through Airbnb starting October 12th at 1pm
Those lucky enough to get a reservation start their evening with a virtual check-in with Sheriff Dewey Riley – played as always by David Arquette – who will utter a few words of warning before the evening.
“As your host, I’ll keep a close eye on guests to make sure no unexpected turn of events takes anyone by surprise,” said an Airbnb press release attributed to Dewey. “Believe me, horror films always stay interesting, for better or for worse …”
If visitors survive the night, they can go home with unique “Scream” merch, such as a DVD bundle, equipment from the fictional “Woodsboro High School” and posters for the “Scream” sequel planned for 2022.
The scary fun experience is unlikely to end on a COVID-19 scare either, as Airbnb has said that on-site staff will follow safety guidelines like wearing masks and social distancing.
Further details and rules for guests are available on Airbnb.
