And just like that star Kristin Davis breathed six seasons, two films and now a fresh start into the character of Charlotte York. However, the actress recently dropped a bombshell on another popular TV series: friends.
friends first premiered in 1994, but of course before the final (and iconic!) cast there was a long audition process for the roles of Rachel, Joey, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Monica. Over 8,000 women have reportedly auditioned for the role of Monica alone – including Kristin Davis. Of course, the role finally came on Courteney Cox.
On a recent guest appearance The Late Late Show with James Cordensaid Kristin James Corden back when Courteney was working on the friends Pilot, the two of them hung out a lot and even went to the same yoga studio. Kristin went on to say that Courteney was as soon as the pilot finished extremely confident the show would be a big hit:

“Courteney and I were in the same yoga class at the time. And we hung out together. The rest of us were like unemployed actors, waitress types, and we hung out after class and one day Courteney said, ‘Hey, guys, you wanna come and buy a car with me?’ We said, ‘Wow, buy a car.’ And she said, “I made this pilot. I feel really good about it. I think I’ll buy a Porsche!” We thought, “Wow! Is it real?” And it was friends. And it went very well. “
Obviously, Courteney’s instincts were spot on because, as everyone knows, friends had a hugely successful decade and is still making big bucks through syndication and streaming platforms.
And while Kristin didn’t get the chance to play Monica in 1994, she grabbed her own breakout role just a few years later (hello, Sex and the City!). However, Kristin’s time with friends didn’t end with her audition for Monica: she made a guest appearance on the show as Joey’s lover Erin in 2000.
Hopefully the next bomb Kristin drops will be about Courteney, who is making a guest appearance at. has And just like that!
