(Greendale, Ind.) – On Giving Tuesday, Adam Duwel, board member of Friends of Lauren Hill Memorial Park, posted an update on progress in the park.
A gravel parking lot has been completed since the groundbreaking on August 2nd. In the past few weeks, the dog park on Georgetown Road in Greendale has been fenced off.
“I had the pleasure of going there on my Thanksgiving break from college and walking and just seeing the fence and I was speechless,” said Duwel. “There were times during this project where you almost thought it was going to fail, that wasn’t going to happen and then going up and seeing it, it was pretty neat. We’re excited. We need a few more things to happen, so that the park is officially opened. ”

Duwel says the park could open in early 2022. Further details will be published on the Friends of the Lauren Hill Memorial Park Facebook page in the following months.
The park will feature open green spaces, a two-thirds acre dog park for small dogs, one and one-third acres for large dogs, and a five-kilometer mountain bike trail.
Friends of Lauren Hill Memorial Park continues to accept donations to help with current and future developments. For more information on donating, see Friends of Lauren Hill Memorial Park – Greendale, IN
Every dollar raised will be used to develop the park and improve the amenities we aim to provide to the citizens of Greendale and the surrounding communities. In the future, we plan to expand the park through additional fundraising to include basketball courts and other recreational facilities such as disc golf.
