Claire Culwell, author of “Survivor: An Abortion Survivor’s Surprising Story of Choosing Forgiveness and Finding Redemption,” will host the Loving Choices “A Star is Born” benefit banquet on October 28th at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale.
“Loving Choices is a pregnancy resource center that offers a variety of free services to teenage girls and adult women in unplanned pregnancies,” said Dana Schwiethale, general manager. “These services include STD testing, pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasounds, short-term crisis counseling, counseling for fathers of babies, long-term peer mentoring, parenting education, infant needs, community health referrals for prenatal care and referrals for adoption services. For clients, healing from previous abortions we also offer weekly post-abortion counseling. “
Every year Loving Choices looks after more than 1,000 women, whose average age is between 18 and 24 years. The group has locations in Rogers and Fayetteville and a mobile unit that travels to Prairie Grove, Springdale and the surrounding areas in Rogers and Fayetteville.
Benefit organizers say, “Culwell is a twin abortion survivor. Claire was adopted into a loving family and says that the realization that she survived an abortion that was to take her life never changed who she was: Wanted, Chosen and Loved. “
Attending the banquet is free due to the generosity of Loving Choices sponsors. However, the organizers add that it is the biggest fundraiser of the year, so they are asking for cash gifts.
