The legendary rock icon Bruce Springsteen has released 20 studio albums, won 20 Grammy Awards, an Oscar for his song “Streets of Philadelphia” and a Tony Award for his Broadway show “Springsteen on Broadway”. (That’s why they call him The Boss, folks.) Born in Long Branch, NJ in 1949, he released his first album, Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ 1973. He really stepped into the national consciousness in 1975 when he dropped out Born to run an iconic collection of the American music canon, and has stayed there for 40 years. Take a stroll back in time with these pictures by Springsteen from his glory days.
