Courteney Cox has “fought to come to terms with aging.”
The 57-year-old actress, best known for playing Monica Geller on Friends, has confessed she had a “midlife crisis” trying to come to terms with her new reality.
She explained, “I couldn’t come to terms with the fact that I was getting older. I think I was having a mid-life crisis.”
The actress has been in an on-off relationship with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid for almost a decade.
And Courteney has confessed to sinking into depression after a breakup, admitting it was “really affected [her]”.
During an appearance on the podcast ‘Awards Chatter’ she explained: “I went through a breakup.
Earlier this year, Courteney claimed that women “go through a lot more than people realize.”
The actress, who has Coco, 17, with ex-husband David Arquette, believes women of a certain age “go through a lot.”
She said: “I think women probably go through a lot more than people realize – I mean going through menopause, depression, being a mother to teenagers.
“I think, yeah, I think we’re going through a lot.”
Courteney also revealed that she finds Johnny’s intelligence “really sexy.”
The ‘Scream’ star listed the things she loves about the 45-year-old rocker, describing Johnny as “smart” and “beautiful”.
The actress, who was married to David between 1999 and 2013, said: “He’s a great advisor. I love his heart, his intentions. his morals. He’s extremely talented and obviously musical, but he’s a poet and a writer.
“He’s just so smart and I think that’s really sexy. And then he’s beautiful.”
