And Ed Sheeran has now revealed that he actually played matchmaker between Courteney Cox and her current boyfriend, Johnny McDaid, who is Ed’s best buddy.
The 30-year-old Bad Habits singer stated during an appearance on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show that he brought Johnny with him once when he was visiting Courteney, 57.

Ed related the story of how the couple met and said, I introduced them to my best buddy Johnny (McDaid – from Snow Patrol), with whom I wrote Shape of You and Bad Habits.
Ed, who also asked his closest friend to be his daughter’s godfather, continued, âHe’s also the godfather of Lyra, but yeah, I introduced her nine years ago.
“She just invited me over to her house and I just kept walking and then one day I brought Johnny with me and he didn’t come home.”

The Friends star appeared to be paying Ed to play Cupid when she let him stay for free at her beach house in Malibu a year later while she was writing songs.

“Well, actually that’s a lie – because I don’t make my own bed at home,” he added.
Ed Sheeran recently enlisted Courteney’s help to annoy fans with the possibility of new music coming out later this month.
He shared a short clip of himself singing and strumming on the guitar while the actress played a few notes on the piano.

Unsure of what the exciting update will bring, fans simply subtitled the video: â25. June”

“Just a little routine dancing with a friend …” she captioned the hilarious video while tagging Ed and adding the hashtag “ReRoutine”.
The singer began the dance by pointing in a funny way from Courteney’s eyes to his before counting “five, six, seven, eight” while snapping her fingers.
Just like in the original, she mimicked her partner before swaying back and forth in front of him.
Then she crouched on the floor while Ed jumped over her.
