Eric Dane, Odeya Rush and Ray Liotta join Signature Films in Dangerous Waters

Eric DaneOdeya Rush, Ray Liotta and Saffron Burrows will star in Signature Films’ Dangerous Waters.

Directed by and based on a story by John Barr (“Blood and Money”) and a script by Mark Jackson, the film, set in the Dominican Republic, centers on a sailing vacation that spirals out of control when a teenage daughter (” Cha Cha Real Smooth star Rush) uncovers the dark past of her mother’s new boyfriend.

Producers include Suza Horvat of Rio Luna Films and Marc Goldberg of Signature Films. Executive producers are Capstone Global’s Christian Mercuri and Signature’s Sarah Gabriel and Gareth Williams, with co-producers Brianna Johnson and Ben Jacques.

Capstone Global will handle worldwide distribution and will be showing the film to Cannes buyers later this month.

The project is the second feature film from Barr, who previously directed Blood and Money with Tom Berenger and worked as cinematographer on This Teacher and Once Upon a Time in Queens and most recently on Ariana Grande, Megan Thee’s music video It Was A… (Masked Christmas) by Stallion and Jimmy Fallon.

Rush stars in Cooper Raiff’s Sundance Audience Award-winning “Cha Cha Real Smooth,” starring Dakota Johnson. Other films include the Oscar-nominated Lady Bird, directed by Greta Gerwig, Dumplin, opposite Jennifer Aniston, and The Giver, starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.

Dane currently stars on the hit HBO series Euphoria and is best known for starring in the Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated series Grey’s Anatomy. He is currently in post-production for Bron Studios on Tony Tost’s directorial debut, National Anthem, in which he stars alongside Sydney Sweeney, Halsey and Paul Walter Hauser.

Burrows is currently starring in Netflix’s You and Amazon’s Golden Globe-winning Mozart in the Jungle. She is in the post production of Alberto Corredor’s Baghead with Peter Mullan and Freya Allan. As a director, Burrows is currently working on two feature films, having directed the project All I Ever Wanted To Tell My Daughter About Men. Burrows is producing Ngozi Onwurah’s upcoming film Neighborhood Alert.

Liotta is next seen in the Apple series Black Bird and Universal’s upcoming thriller Cocaine Bear, directed by Elizabeth Banks, opposite Keri Russell. He will next be seen in the Universal and Working Title film The Substance alongside Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore. His recent work includes the Warner Bros. films The Many Saints of Newark and Marriage Story.

Signature Films and Capstone Studios recently teamed up on family comedy The Estate, starring Toni Collette and Anna Faris.

Other Signature Films work includes Bar Fight, starring Melissa Fumero and Rachel Bloom; the Ryan Philippe actioner “One Shot”; the Haley Bennett romance She is Love; and the upcoming action movie Traphouse, starring Dave Bautista.
