If you wanted to leave town “The Typical American Road Trip” continues its food-driven journey through the Northwest on Friday. Episode 3 is titled “Sweet, Savory and High-Flying Adventure” and showcases the personality of Food Network Guy Fieri, his family and a group of friends en route to the Cascade Mountains in Washington.

• You can watch “The Typical American Road Trip” at 9 p.m. Friday, June 17, on the Food Network. You can also stream the show live, and other Food Network series like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives fubo TV that offers a free trial; and further Philo, which also offers a free trial.

Guy’s All-American Road Trip is a limited series created by Fieri, best known as the host of “Diners, drive-ins and dives.” Based out of the Fieri’s home base in Windsor, California, the host and group traveled the West Coast, stopping to eat, play games and enjoy local attractions.

For example, on last week’s episode, Fieri and his group spent time in Florence, Oregon. They camped, played miniature golf, and drove go-karts. Fieri’s sons, Hunter and Ryder, went to Novelli’s Crab & Seafood to load up Dungeness crab, cod and crab soup.

While the Fieri sons were there, DJ Reynolds, owner of Novelli’s Crab and Seafood, told them that his mother and stepfather died a year ago while they were crab fishing. As Local news agencies reported at the time, Kyle and Amber Novelli died in June 2020 when their boat sank in the Siuslaw River Bar.

In the aftermath, Reynolds was invited to join Fieri, his family, and friends as the group ate dishes made from crab and cod purchased at Novelli’s.

After stopping in Florence, the group headed north past Portland, a “great food town,” as Fieri put it. The Rose City has featured 27 of its restaurants in Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The group continued past Portland and arrived Chehalis, Washington, where rainy weather inspired “Rainy Day Chili” creations.

The Friday, June 17 episode follows the group Leavenworth, Washington, the Bavarian-inspired town in the Cascades. Here’s the description: “The Fieris continue their epic road trip as gingerbread house baking turns into a decorating showdown and traditional Bavarian meal; Plus there’s a zipline adventure, campsite curry, over-the-top burgers, and milkshake mania at a retro diner.”

Episode 2 of “Guy’s All-American Road Trip” airs Friday, June 17 at 9 p.m. on Food Network.
