How to hide your listening activity on Spotify

On the Spotify desktop app, select your profile picture and select settings from the drop down menu. On the Settings page, scroll down to Social Section. Disable the switch to the right of Share my listening activities on Spotify. This will disable your friends’ ability to see what you’re listening to on Spotify.

This puts your Spotify app in a private listening mode where everything you hear is not shared with all friends who follow you on Spotify. You won’t see any indication in the app that private listening mode is active, so don’t forget to turn it off when you’re done!

Why might someone need to temporarily enable a private session?
