The $100 million defamation dispute between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has gripped the world, and now celebrities are taking sides. Jennifer Aniston followed the 58-year-old actor on Instagram on Thursday, May 5. according to radar. However, the 53-year-old ‘Friends’ graduate is not currently following Heard on the platform.

Many users on social media responded, as one person wrote on Twitter: “♥️ Jennifer Aniston is following #JohnnyDepp And see who she’s unfollowing?” Equality, women’s rights, etc. She would NEVER follow him if she didn’t believe he was the victim!!” another user added. “Yes, I would also like to see Johnny with Jennifer. She is one of the most beautiful, strong willed, real and true women out there. They would take Hollywood by storm. ❤️,” noted another. Though many Amber fans weren’t as impressed as one person wrote, out of all the hundreds of A-listers who asked Johnny Depp’s PR team to follow Depp on Instagram, only Jennifer Aniston & Momoa started following him . Aniston isn’t the only Hollywood star to have endorsed the Pirates of the Caribbean actor. Depp’s Instagram followers increased dramatically after appearing in a US court case with Amber Heard. Salma Hayek, Zoe Saldana and a host of other celebrities are following him on social media right now. Formerly Paul McCartney played ‘My Valentine’ on Tuesday May 3rd with the music video featuring Depp in the background.

In recent weeks, Depp and Heard, who married in 2015 and divorced in 2016, have been arguing in court. On May 5, Heard, 36, testified against her ex-husband and revealed the alleged physical abuse she suffered at his hands. She explained in court: “My head was bleeding from the torn strands of hair that were all over the floor.” He’s going to kill me and he won’t even have noticed… I could only hear myself screaming until I couldn’t hear myself anymore. I could just hear him saying he was going to kill me,” she added. Depp and his attorneys released a statement following her dramatic testimony, claiming she “gave the performance of her life” on the witness stand in the Virginia courtroom.

Heard previously claimed she was the victim of abuse in an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018. Though she didn’t mention Depp by name, he claimed the play ruined his career and sued her for defamation. Heard, on the other hand, stands by her allegations and has filed a counterclaim against the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star. Depp has also previously claimed he never abused Heard. “The only person I’ve abused in my life is myself. Sir, if anyone has had a problem with my drinking at any point in my life, it has been me,” he noted. The ongoing process will resume on May 16 after a one-week hiatus.
