Jennifer Aniston congratulates ‘Friends’ cast on Emmy nominations

Jennifer Aniston hit Instagram to publicly express her excitement and gratitude after the Friends reunion special received four Emmy nominations.

The reunion, which aired on HBO Max, was a nearly two-hour special with the six original cast members talking about their experiences on the show. The original cast, including Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, also read and re-enacted some of the most popular scenes from the show’s ten seasons.

Aniston said she was delighted with the nominations on Instagram. She wrote, “Congratulations to my @friends family on FOUR Emmy nominations. It was such a special reunion for us and we couldn’t be happier to share everything with you. “

She also thanked those who organized and made the reunion possible. Added: “AND a very special thanks and greeting to @mrbenwinston for making everything possible. You are brilliant and we love you. “

Aniston wasn’t the only “Friends” actor to enjoy the Emmy nominations. Her co-star and close friend Courteney Cox also thanked them on social media.

Cox wrote, “The one we are incredibly grateful to the Academy for this honor and especially grateful to @mrbenwinston and his entire team for their outstanding performance.”

Emmy nominations for “Friends” over the years

Awards are no stranger to the cast. During the ten seasons of the show, the cast of “Friends” received a total of 16 Emmy nominations. Kudrow, who eventually won an Emmy, was the show’s most nominated actor with six nominations. Aniston also won an award, as did Christina Applegate and Bruce Willis for their recurring guest stars on the show.

The show also won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2002.

Fans of the show have tuned in by the millions to see their favorite cast reunite. Reuters estimates that 29% of US streaming households wanted to watch Friends: The Reunion on the holiday weekend on which it premiered.

They were rewarded with a heartwarming special in which the cast also revealed secrets behind the scenes. Everyone found that Aniston and Schwimmer, who played on and next to the couple Ross and Rachel on the show, had a crush at the beginning of Friends.
