Jennifer Aniston says even Matt LeBlanc got “a little weep” at the emotional reunion of the friends

Jennifer Aniston speaks openly about how emotional the stars of friends was while filming their HBO Max Reunion.

In an interview on the topic of “Literally! Using the Rob Lowe podcast, Aniston told host Rob Lowe that sharing memories with former co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry had proven bittersweet.

“I think it really hit us all a lot harder than we expected,” she said.

“Because in your head you’re like, ‘Oh, this is going to be really fun, time to travel.’

“It turns out, ooh, ouch – it’s kind of hard to time travel.”

At the two-hour scriptless reunion that aired in May, the show’s stars shared lots of laughter, a few bombs, and even some tears of their time friends, which aired 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004.

For starters, Aniston and the others were stunned to see the sitcom’s set reconstructed to “look exactly” as they remembered “except for the little tchotchke on the shelves”.

“All of a sudden you’re here,” Aniston said, remembering the moment she stepped back on the set.

“And, you know, a lot has happened to each of us for 16 years.

“And 16 years ago we were all kind of with big eyes and bushy tails and had our whole life ahead of us, although our hearts were broken to say goodbye to these 10 years and this family and these people and the job we all love it to do.

“And it gave the fans and us so much pleasure.

“I mean, it was like taking a lucky pill every day.

“So, going back, it’s nostalgic in a way that’s also a little melancholy, you see?

“Going back there is nostalgic in a way that is also a little melancholy, you see?”

“Because a lot has changed and we’ve all gone different ways … some easy and some not so easy, for each of us.”

Some of the most emotional moments of the reunion were “brutal” to be filmed, Aniston said.

“‘There are cameras everywhere and I can’t stop crying,'” she recalls.

Indeed, a tearful exchange ended on the cutting room floor.

“There was a time when we were all kind of in a puddle,” recalls Aniston.

Even the “tough guy” LeBlanc got whiny, she added.

“I don’t think we broke David,” she recalled.

“But even LeBlanc broke at some point. You know, Mr. Tough Guy.

“You know, our brother. Lord impenetrable. Our big brother who would kill anyone if he looked at you the wrong way.

“Even it got a little foggy.”
