So much has been written about me in the past. I thought it was about time people heard from me. The highs were high, the lows were deep. But I lived to tell the story, even if at times it seemed I wouldn’t. And it’s all in here. My apologies that it’s not a pop-up book. pic.twitter.com/q4qYd7Zp6t

This book builds on the success of HBO Max Friends: The reunion Special. Though delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the special aired May 27, 2021, and brought Perry and co-stars Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa, Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc for the first time since back to the season finale screen. This special became the most-watched program on the UK Sky One network, with strong ratings around the world as well.
This will be the first memoir to be published by a member of Main friends cast, although many books have been written about the history of the show itself. Given Matthew Perry’s story, it certainly makes sense that he would be the first to share his story. Doubly so considering that the sitcom’s runtime coincides almost exactly with key points in its story.
