Indeed after the frenzy normal people– Sally Rooney’s First Book TV Adaptation – Triggered worldwide, it feels like the author’s second series is one of the most anticipated shows to be released this year.
So it’s only natural that we want to be counting down the days until the show’s release, but when exactly is that sacred date? conversations with friends
Premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime
on May 16 in Australia.
Back then, Amazon
has confirmed the show will take place on the morning of the 16th, but an exact time has yet to be announced.
If you haven’t read the novel the series is based on, the story revolves around 21-year-old college student Frances (Alison Oliver) and the intimate but complicated relationships she has with three key people: her ex – Girlfriend/best friend Bobbi (Sasha Lane), enigmatic new girlfriend Melissa (Jemima Kirk) and Melissa’s handsome actor husband Nick (Joe Alwyn).
After becoming entangled in each other’s lives, the quartet find themselves in a complicated love square.
Hulu, who produced the series, revealed the plot: “While Melissa and Bobbi openly flirt, Nick and Frances embark on an intense secret affair that surprises them both. Soon, the affair begins to test the bond between Frances and Bobbi, forcing Frances to reconsider her self-esteem and the friendship she holds so dear.”
In the first full trailer of the series, we see Frances ask Bobbi, “Would it depress you to sleep with someone who loves someone else?” to which she replies, “Not if they loved me too,” while both of them are dating come to terms with their feelings for Nick or Melissa.
