In the Heights star Melissa Barrera has teased that fans are “not ready” for the 2022 scream after confirming she saw the film’s final cut.

Barrera has been confirmed to play a key role in the film, but little more is known about what audiences can expect from the rising star.
Confirmed as simply titled Scream (and not Scream 5), the upcoming horror film will mark the first time fans visit the fictional town of Woodsboro, California again Scream 4 in 2011. The fate of the franchise following that installment became largely unclear after director Wes Craven’s death in 2015, so the official confirmation of his 2020 return was welcome news for many horror fans. In addition to a handful of newcomers, original cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Marley Shelton will also return.
Now, Barrera went to Twitter to annoy fans about the upcoming release. The star revealed that she had seen the final cut of Scream, and teased that fans “is not ready“For what’s to come. Included in the tweet was the fun new Ghostface emoji that Twitter released in celebration of the movie’s release, followed by a knife emoji, Ghostface’s signature weapon of choice. Barrera recently confirmed that the new Scream The film will honor Craven and keep the original fans happy while at the same time keeping the franchise fresh for new audiences. Details of what to expect from the film have largely been kept under wraps at this point, so the star’s tweet is likely to excite avid viewers incredibly. Many are expecting the first trailer for Scream every day after a cryptic tweet from the official Scream Twitter account and the release of this new Ghostface emoji, so the timing of Barrera’s tweet is probably not a coincidence.
After the first one was published Scream As early as 1996, the Craven classics established themselves as firm fan favorites within the horror genre. Barrera’s confirmation that the final cut is well worth watching is sure to be exciting news for many as it will certainly be interesting to see what directing duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have created as the pair have some great shoes will fill after being taken over by such an iconic director as Craven. With Scream Currently slated for January release, the audience doesn’t have to wait long now. And with Halloween just around the corner, now seems like a good time to officially start promoting the film.
