Scream 4K Blu-Ray Release Date and Bonus Content Revealed

Scream, Wes Craven‘s beloved slasher from 1996, celebrates its 25th anniversary with a new 4K Ultra HD version. Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that the feature-rich and newly remastered 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray will be available on October 19th just in time for Halloween.

The new edition features a brand new recap of the film and Craven, who passed away in 2015, with behind-the-scenes archive footage and new star interviews Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette, as well as screenwriter Kevin Williamson. The new edition also has tons of older content, including Q&A with the cast and crew, a production feature, and audio commentary from Craven and Williamson.

The announcement comes at an exciting time for the franchise as production is complete in Part Five and Director Matt Bettinelli-Olpin report that the film is finished. While the film is slated to hit theaters next year, Bettinelli-Olpin and co-director have Tyler Gillett have remained vigilant to avoid the spoiler leaks that previously plagued Scream Movies, using multiple versions of the script, and editing multiple cuts of the movie to keep things as dense as possible. Meanwhile, fans can relive the thrill of the movie that started it all.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, Fathom events and Paramount Pictures are also bringing them Scream back in theaters for a special two day event. Horror fans can start the Halloween season in style in selected cinemas on October 10 and 11, before they can relive the action at home after the new edition is released. It’s hard to imagine a release schedule better suited to a movie about horror movie fanaticism and encyclopedic knowledge of horror classics. Ghostface won’t catch any Scream Fans in any memory swings this Halloween.

Scream will be released on October 19th on 4K Ultra HD, Limited-Edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBook and Blu-ray. Check out the full list of special features and the cover of the 4K and Steelbook versions below:
