Scream 6 BTS images reveal a surprising new location with a twist


Despite many fans thinking – or to wish – the scream 6 (2023) would actually not go any further Neve Campbell’s departure from the project, the film has almost finished production. And now, let’s get our first look at the franchise’s surprising new setting.

Neve Campbell’s exit from scream 6 felt like yesterday – in fact it was only about two and a half months ago. And now, scream 6 is already in the final stages of production.

Campbell has been the cornerstone of the franchise since Wes Craven’s original film in 1996 and has appeared in every sequel since. As such, scream 6 will mark her first absence from the franchise, although many hope she will return.

However, the upcoming sequel will also mark the first time David Arquette’s character Dewey Riley is absent from one Scream film when he was brutally killed by the Ghostface Killer that year Scream (2022).

So, scream 6 will start on a fresh slab. While it will serve as a direct sequel to Scream (2022), as It will see the return of all surviving characters from this film (Bar Campbell), Scream now has a new home.

We’ve known for a while that the film will be set in Manhattan, New York City, however some set photos for the new location have been revealed.

But like I said, it’s not actually Manhattan, since filming took place in Montreal, Canada, which is also acting as the Big Apple for the upcoming sequel. Either way, it will make for a welcome change.

A sign advertises “Le Domas Financial Group” – a clever nod to the horror film Ready or Not (2019) directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors behind it Scream (2022) and scream 6.

The film revolves around a bride, played by Samara Weaving, who is forced to play a deadly game of hide-and-seek with her new in-laws. And recently, Weaving joined the cast of scream 6.

Other new additions include Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato and Josh Segarra, who, like Weaving, have been cast in undisclosed roles.

While New York City may seem like a giant leap for them Scream franchises whose films are typically set against idyllic American towns, this isn’t the first time the series has left Woodsboro.

In fact, the only films set in the California city Scream (1996), scream 4 (2011) and Scream (2022). The other sequels – scream 2 (1997) and scream 3 (2000) will take place in Ohio and Hollywood respectively.

Of course, not much is known about the plot scream 6but we do know that the survivors from the last film moved to New York City, where a new Ghostface killer (probably two) arises.
