Horror fans can rejoice because The Quarry is now available for pre-order. This game is essentially an interactive horror film filled with homages to movies like Friday the 13th, Deliverance and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that will bring a big smile to fans of the genre.
Aside from a few small bits of combat, The Quarry is almost entirely a movie in which you have to make decisions about how the characters react to the situations they find themselves in – somewhat similar to Telltale Games. In the storyline, you take control of a group of nine camp counselors who must survive a night at Hackett’s Quarry, and depending on your choices, you can enjoy up to 186 different endings. It’s pretty impressive, so Preordered The Quarry and Bonuses for pre-orders will look pretty appealing to many players.
If you ever feel like you’d rather just watch it as a movie, you have that option too, and all you have to do is set all of their personality configurations to automatically react the way you want them to when you are given a choice. Meanwhile, The Quarry’s cast includes (among others) David Arquette, Justice Smith, Grace Zabriskie and Lance Henriksen – so it’s sure to be an entertaining fray.
If you’re planning on adding The Quarry to your collection, we’ve got a rundown of each edition and the pre-order bonuses you’ll get.
The Quarry Pre-Order: Standard Edition)
If you pre-order the standard edition of the game, you’ll get it on release date (June 10th) plus a nifty little extra bonus: the Horror History Visual Filter Pack. This allows you to play the game with a camera filter aimed at recreating the visual style of different films. The three filters are:
- The indie horror filter
- The black and white filter
- The horror filter of the 80s
They give you the opportunity to make the game more like your favorite horror movie.
The Quarry Pre-Order: Deluxe Edition
If you want to get your hands on some extra goodies, you might also want to pay a bit more to get the Deluxe Edition of the game. This version includes the following pre-order bonuses:
- Death rewind system: Did a character you like die? Well, the Deluxe Edition gives you instant access to the Death Rewind system, which lets you, you guessed it, rewind deaths and make other decisions.
- Gorefest Movie Mode: If you watch the game in this mode, you can look forward to “an abundance of death, dismemberment and buckets of blood.”
- 80’s style character outfits: Along with the 80s horror filter, these can help complete the 80s movie aesthetic if that is what you are looking for.
We hope this has been a valuable insight for anyone hoping to pre-order The Quarry. It’s sure to be a pretty awesome game, and these pre-order bonuses put delicious proverbial cherries on that creamy terror cake.
