When it comes to being a Hollywood star, almost every piece of your life becomes a hot topic, especially when kids become a part of the picture! Over time, countless A-list stars have faced backlash over some more unusual baby names, including Gwyneth Paltrow’s choice of Apple.

Well, it seems like Apple is as tame by name as it gets after Grimes and Elon Musk revealed their son’s name last year. While we’ve come across some high-profile names, there are a few celebs who have gone a more traditional route and named their kids after themselves, like Usher and Courteney Cox did!

10 usher

Usher recently welcomed his very first daughter, Sovereign Bo Raymond, who is joining Naviyd, and of course Usher Raymond V. The Let It Burn singer named his second boy after himself, keeping the family tradition alive.

Given that Usher Usher Raymond is fourth, it was only fitting that the R&B singer should carry on the name after welcoming the now 13-year-old in 2007 along with ex-wife Tameka Foster.

9 Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson reigned and still reigns as King of Pop, but his legacy now lives on in his three children, Paris, Prince and Bigi. Although the youngest, who now wants to wear Bigi, was known as the “blanket” for the great good of his childhood, the 19-year-old made it clear in 2015 that he does not like the nickname.

Well, one thing a lot of fans don’t know is that Bigi’s maiden name is also Prince Michael Jackson II. Similar to his older brother, the “Billie Jean” singer actually named two of his children after himself.

8th Celine Dion

In 2001, Celine Dion and her future husband René Angélil welcomed their first child together, none other than René-Charles Angélil.

The eldest of three is named for his father, who was Celine’s esteemed husband and manager. Angélil died in 2016, where his legacy lives on with René-Charles, who turned 20 earlier this year.

7th future

Future is known for his successful rap career and has released hits like “Mask Off” and “Life Is Good”. at least.

Despite their rocky demeanor, the duo welcomed their son in 2014, whom they named Zahir Willburn after rapper Future. The duo’s relationship ended that same year, and they are now co-parents of Future, who turned 7 last May.

6th Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has lived a pretty long life in the spotlight, but he managed to shield his children from Hollywood as much as possible. After the duo met Vanessa Paradis in 1998, they got along so well that they had not one but two children together!

Lily Depp was born in 1999 and Jack Depp in 2002. Although none of these names seem identical to Johnny, it turns out that Depp’s son Jack is actually called John Christopher Jack Depp.

5 Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox and David Arquette shared 14 wonderful years before they finally split in 2013. Fortunately, the two stayed pretty close and are even more friendly today after a lot of time has passed.

Although they always loved each other, the duo always kept things polite, mostly to their daughter Coco. The 17-year-old was born in 2004 and was named after the first two letters of Courteney’s name. CoUrteney Cox.

4th Sniffer dog

Snoop Dogg has certainly made a name for himself in the music industry that will live on with not just one but two of his children! Snoop, who was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. named two of his sons after himself, but the rapper “Drop It Like It’s Hot” gave things a little twist.

Instead of choosing the name Snoop and his wife, Shante Broadus opted for Cordell and Corde, both of whom were inspired by Snoop’s middle name Cordozar.

3rd Shaquille O’Neill

Shaquille O’Neal has cemented his name as one of the best to ever honor the NBA! Well, with a name this great, it’s only fair that Shaq let him move on with one of his children.

Despite being a father of six, Shaquille named his youngest son after him, but much like Snoop Dogg, the four-time NBA championship winner has changed things too. Instead of opting for Shaq or Shaquille, he and his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal opted for Shaqir.

2 Jason Derulo

Jason Derulo experienced a career resurgence when he managed to make it big on TikTok and of course landed one of the biggest songs of 2020 alongside BTS. For Jason, who welcomed his son Jason King Derulo together with his girlfriend Jena Frumes in May of this year, it doesn’t seem to be enough.

The singer revealed in an interview that the choice was easy to make, considering that it was always his intention to keep the family name alive!

1 Will & Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith were close to naming their two children after them, but they too decided to take a creative turn.

Instead of Jada and Will, the duo chose Jayden and Willow! When you consider that the Smith family is full of talent, be it in music or acting, it seems like their kids have more than just their names.
