While Courteney Cox is best known for her role as Monica Geller on the former sitcom FriendsThese days, the actress has also made a name for herself for her drastic plastic interventions, which at one point resulted in significant changes in her face when seen in public.

It’s no secret that Cox is a huge fan of going under the knife to perfect her looks, but the mother of a child didn’t shy away from getting her job done. While she hasn’t confessed to all of the things she’s been through in the past 10 years, she does admit that she got a little help from a surgeon in trying to achieve a youthful look.

While there are dozens of rumors about what the 57-year-old did to her face, so far she has only spoken openly about being a huge fan of fillers at one point in her life. But she soon stopped because of this. Here are the facts …

Courteney Cox’s operations

Cox didn’t shy away from the fact that she went under the knife every now and then to perfect her looks, telling New Beauty in a June 2017 interview that the decision to regularly inject dermal filler on her face was largely due to that was due to what her surgeon had recommended her.

Whenever she came over for a visit, she would remember her doctor saying how great she looked, but it was always followed by the comment to put a little more filler in certain places, which then made Cox feel like she was doing the extra needed work.

“Well, in the end you would go to a doctor who says, ‘You look great, but what would help is a small syringe here or a pen there,'” she said in the interview.

Cox went on to say that things were relatively good in the beginning, as no one noticed the small changes she had made on her face.

From there, however, she received recommendations to see other plastic surgeons who – again – would praise her great looks, but insist on advocating further procedures. At one point, people told her to slow down the operation, and although she didn’t notice it at first, it got her out of control.

If the surgeon recommended it, Cox would practically do it without realizing that she probably didn’t even need it.

“So you go out and you don’t look too bad and you think nobody noticed – it’s good. Then someone tells you about another doctor, ‘This person is great [did] that person who looks so natural. ‘ You meet them and they say, ‘You should just do this.’ The next thing you know is that you are layered and layered and layered. You have no idea, because it gradually goes until you say, ‘Oh shit, that doesn’t look right.’ “

On one special occasion, just after leaving her surgeon’s office, Cox had gone to a longtime friend who she remembered was utterly shocked by the drastic change in her appearance. The buddy allegedly looked at her and said, “Woah! Not anymore.”

The Alabama native said the remark marked the tipping point for her to quit plastic surgery by dissolving all of the filler that same week.

“I’ve dissolved all of my fillers. I’m as natural as I can be,” she insisted. “I feel better because I look like myself. I think I look more like the person I was now. I hope I do.”

When asked if she’d ever want to use fillers again in the future, Cox said she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of maybe doing light jobs later in life, but she plans to stay natural.

“But they keep developing new things – it’s crazy how many new machines there are,” she joked. “Things will change. Everything will fall. I tried not to drop it but that made me look wrong.

“You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like me. These are not wrinkles – these are laugh lines. I had to learn to accept exercise and realize that fillers are not my friend. “

In May 2021, Cox appeared in the Friends Reunion with former cast members Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow, who reportedly earned $ 5 million for participating in the one-time HBO Max special.

While the reunion sparked talks about a possible reboot, including the original cast, there have been no official reports to suggest that NBC is looking to bring the sitcom back – at least not for a reboot.

But considering how popular the HBO Max special was, there might be more fresh content out there Friends show up in the near future.
